    How to Lose or Manage Weight with Hypothyroidism.

     

    The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland that sits low on the front of the neck The thyroid secretes several hormones, commonly called thyroid hormones. The major hormone is thyroxin, also called T4 Thyroid hormones perform all over the body, influencing metabolism, growth and development, and body temperature. mainly this is endocrine disorder.

     

    If you’re making too little thyroid hormone, your TSH will go up. If you’re making too much thyroid hormone, your TSH will go down.”

    If your TSH is higher than µIU/ml 0.3-5.5 on repeat tests, you probably have hypothyroidism.

    Below are some of the quick tips that can help you understand how to lose or manage weight with hypothyroidism.

     

    Avoid intake of below foods in Raw Form: Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, kidney beans (rajma), bajra, etc. contain anti-nutritional compounds called goitrogens, which inhibit the uptake of iodine in the thyroid gland which then affects the thyroid hormones production. It’s essential to avoid their intake in raw form, but can be consumed after cooking them thoroughly.

     

    • Add probiotic in diet like curd, yogurt, buttermilk

    • Low fat diet (exclude butter, cheese, and hydrogenated fat like bakery and fried , packed foods

    •  Incorporate Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish, flax seeds, and walnuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.

    • Avoid soya products.

    • Do not use refined oil , soyabean and corn oil.

    • Do some breathing exercise to control thyroid.

    • Good natural sources of iodine support thyroid Include iodized salt or sea vegetable in diet
